Community Spotlight: INCOR & the Chili Cook Off

INCOR: Sheltered Work Activity Program

INCOR enables the disabled by providing Residential, Group Home, and Employment Services. They are an active member of the Oklahoma community and frequently run fundraising events in the Muskogee area. INCOR serves Muskogee, McIntosh, Adair, Sequoyah, Wagoner, Okmulgee, and Cherokee Counties.

Vocational Program

INCOR’s vocational program provides several services:

Job Coaching and Community Integrated Employment Services provides individuals with a paid job opportunity in the community. They are assisted by onsite staff and placed in roles that are tailored to their unique abilities, needs, and interests. As individuals progress and gain confidence on the job, the need for a Job Coach fades.

Community Services aides individuals that need assistance integrating into the community. This service provides trained staff to help individuals cope with being in crowds, around loud noises, and other external stimuli. Individuals may also participate in volunteer work to prep them for paid employment.

Center Base and Sheltered Workshop Services offer a paid role in assembly work. This program teaches attendance, work ethic, and other skills that aid individuals in being able to gain employment outside of INCOR.

Residential Program

INCOR’s residential program allows individuals to either remain in their own home or join a group home. Their group homes have 24-hour supervision, where residents will learn essential life skills such as medicine taking, cleaning, and cooking.

Next 2 New

INCOR’s consignment shop, Next2New, provides additional funding to the program. It is also one of the employment options available through the vocational program.
